November 2001
I would like to register my disappointment with the 2001 Art of the Stitch Exhibition.
The previous Barbican exhibition was outstanding, however, the subject exhibition was a big let down. There was nothing memorable on show and very much the same from established artists.
The venue certainly did not help. Please can the Barbican be considered again for future exhibitions.

January 2002
I have to say that for me personally, this exhibition was a disappointment in comparison with the three previous ones. If it really was an exhibition of international work 'which represents the breadth of good contemporary embroidery and design', then I felt that quite a lot of it failed to reach that remit. A few pieces were excellent and very well executed, but I really felt they were in the minority this time. I did enjoy the work shown in Generation, with their brief.
Hardly worth a journey to London, was my feeling.
