Inspiration in Australia

January 2002

In the May 2001 issue, there was an article and small picture by Anne Jones about the Christchurch Textile. Following contact with Anne and much help by email, I decided a banner project could be organised here in Tallangatta, a small township in the Australian bush. Under the auspices of the Anglican Church, we are now constructing a similar banner. In some six weeks over 400 of the 2,000 squares have been given out, and we expect the banner will be finished in time for the Wangaratta Diocesan Centenary next year. It will hang in the church hall.

Without The World of Embroidery this project would not have been conceived, let alone commenced, and there has been much interest from the surrounding areas. The World of Embroidery is certainly much valued here in Australia.
