Black British Needlework Traditions - Enquiry

Greetings!

I am an African American quilter and researcher. I'm completing a comprehensive, seven- chapter sourcebook on African American quilting to be published in 2002.

I am interested in learning more about Black British (African, Caribbean, British-born) needlework and quilting traditions. I'd like to understand if and how culture is incorporated into the needlework or quilting. I would like to learn how the traditions are passed along to other generations, if at all. I would like to know who the leading Black British needlework textile artists may be.

I would greatly appreciate cooresponding with Black British needlework enthusiasts, textile faculty and students.

I would also love to read any magazines and articles that highlight the work of Black British needlework and textile artists. I don't have easy access to the British magazines here in the US.

Many thanks
