Letters Online

A new internet mailing list for textile artists

Readers may be interested to hear about The Alternative Quilt list, a new internet mailing list which will provide a forum for discussion of innovative, design-lead quiltmaking and related textile arts within the UK context.

Although the focus is on quiltmaking, topics covered will be wide-ranging, everything from textile making (paper, felt, lace, even knitting) to surface design and embroidery. Subscription is free and the list is open to all textile artists and enthusiasts.

The Alternative Quilt list is a complement to the popular British Quilt List which covers general quilting subjects.

To join either list visit www.onelist.com and subscribe to AQL or BQL. BQL is up and running and AQL will be online from 10 May.
