Tools on planes

It may be worth any artists or crafters with tools which may be confiscated to take with them a self-addressed and stamped padded envelope to pop the offending items into. This way you can be sure they will be waiting for you when you arrive home. Of course, checking with the airline should clear up any queries regarding what is and isn't allowed, but mistakes can happen, and we all get attached to particular scissors, needles or other tools, don't we?
